Yoichi Isagi was moments away from scoring a goal that would have sent his high school soccer team to the nationals. His split-second decision to pass the ball to a teammate cost him that chance. Bitter, confused, and disappointed, Isagi wonders if things would have been different if he hadn’t made the pass. When he returns home, an invitation from the Japan Football Union is waiting. Isagi becomes one of 300 U-18 strikers chosen for a controversial project called Blue Lock.
The project’s goal is to turn one of the players into the star striker for Japan’s national team. Each participant competes in solo and team challenges to rise to the top. Despite his ethical objections, Isagi feels driven to fight his way to the top, even if it means crushing the dreams of 299 others.”Blue Lock”
